Global College Facility Taking Shape

zeit global college opening facility in nanaimo

Site of new Zeit Global College

The former Provincial Ministry of Social Services offices located at 60 Needham Street is currently being converted into an educational facility for new arrivals to Canada. The former ministry building is being transformed into an outlet of Zeit Global College, a post-secondary educational institution that offers training in hospitality, English as a Second Language (ESL), vocational training and other areas of study. Courses offered by the institution vary in length but can extend for as long as two years. By attending Zeit College students, primarily from Asia, can earn transfer credits to other secondary institutions and universities to continue their studies. Once fully operational, the Needham facility will feature five classrooms to accommodate as many as 90 students. Over the next few years as enrollment increases, the College’s developers hope to expand to a second campus and eventually move to a larger facility where a further 100 students could be served. The goal of the institution is to provide training that will make the province’s newest citizens more productive employees and to help in the launching of their individual careers. The general project manager for Zeit Global College is Ralph Kirby who a licensed REALTOR® with Realty Executives in Nanaimo.
