StaffQuest Placement Group one of the city’s most successful employment agency is marking its 20th Anniversary in business. The company’s President and CEO, Melodi Wood, has been with the firm since its inception. She moved with her family to Nanaimo from Vancouver in 1994. StaffQuest is the result of her vision for a local, professional, full-service employment agency.
She is actively involved as part of the daily client services team, working directly with clients. Because of her ‘hands-on’ approach and dedication to this company we have built a solid client-base. That client-base continues to grow each and every day fulfilling the vision that began in 1995.
She is also the President and Founder of peoplemenders.com, an online healthcare recruitment board and resource community. The website (initially launched in 2007) is a place where healthcare professionals and providers can search for and post jobs in health, access articles, career information and the latest in health-related news.
Thanks to the surprise announcement that Royal LePage has acquired the Coast Realty Group, its assets and in many cases it’s REALTORS®, there is a huge amount of movement occurring within the Vancouver Island real estate industry at present. Coast Realty employed approximately 160 REALTORS®, so with its acquisition by Royal LePage there is literally too much movement occurring within this sector to catalog at this time. One thing that is clear is that while Royal LePage has taken over the company, not all the former Coast Realty agents are sticking with the new management.
In Port Alberni for example, 11 of the former Coast REALTORS® have decided to move over to the local RE/MAX franchise, RE/MAX Mid-Island. Judy Gray, co-owner of the office said the new additions have turned her business into the largest real estate company in the Alberni Valley. “When Coast Realty Group closed its offices in Port Alberni, 11 of their top REALTORS® joined us at RE/MAX Mid-Island Realty. We were thrilled to welcome everyone,” she said.
“It’s been an amazing week. We’re now not only the longest established real estate company, but also the largest in the Alberni Valley and West Coast.”
